Niagara Region

Hello! i just joined this community a few moments ago after seeing a post about the Niagara Region. We drove past Jordan on the way home from Niagara-on-the-Lake a couple of days ago. We had wanted to get out of the city for the night, so we actually stayed in Niagara Falls on wednesday.

One of my favorite wineries is Peller Estates, just off the Niagara Parkway in NOTL. A few years ago we purchased a case of the Private Reserve Gamay Noir, but sadly didn't save even one. We gave away a few as gifts, shared a few with friends, and drank a few ourselves. Too good NOT to drink! Now they are selling the 2002 Gamay, so we picked up a couple of bottles to save for a special occasion, as well as a bottle of the 2003 Dry Riesling.

If you enjoy Riesling, try this one. It's taste is clean and refreshing, a touch of apple and citrus fruits, light and very easy to drink. I'm saving it for the holidays, to have with turkey and stuffing. I've tasted a few of the Rieslings from other Niagara wineries in the past, such as Chateau Des Charmes, but Peller remains my favorite.
